I agree with this entire thread.

there seems to be an assumption on their part regarding the order in which PlayNC accounts are created, and the manner in which later accounts are merged. Their online store is royally broken.

This is just a thinly disguised attempt to drive us players to their store when we all know they could just enable the damn tab like the other four.

I smell the taint of Factions around the whole thing, forcing players to participate in a mode of play they may not want to undertake, simply to advance the storyline/unlock a storage tab.

Just to update everyone about their forgotten password. I did the exact method as the guy here. I used different user names that I had. Finally got one that is correct. How did I know it's correct, it ask me to input my birthday and the security code. Once you enter it, if the account name is valid. You will be prompt with the secret question and you need to type in the correct answer to get/reset your password. (so basically when it goes back to enter account name page it's their way of saying it's not vaild) *I tried another name and it didn't take me to the answer/question page!

Sadly, I forgot my password soooo I'll email support and see what happen!

I was lucky enough to remember where my account was linked to, but it really bothers me that you can't just look at the current log-in from your game to see where it's linked to. The system needs a fix here so it can work both ways.

I don't want to have to make 11 more PlayNC master accounts, and I definitely don't want all my accounts linked to one master account, that's being hacked just waiting to happen...

/SIGNED I still having soooo much trouble getting my account login and PW to work. I always used the ingame store and only NCSoft like twice, now I can't remeber login name nor PW and taking me awhile to get a reply back.

The master PlayNC/NCSoft account is required if you ever have a need to contact support for ANY reason, reporting violations in game, asking account questions, technical support, etc. The fact you can manage any NCSoft product through it is a plus in my opinion. I have all 4 of my GW accounts linked through my master account, and if all of them get hacked, I can easily point to this as being the ONLY common denominator. So far, in almost 3 years, I've yet to have a problem.

The biggest problem with this is that NC Soft did not take ArenaNet's warning about traffic load seriously. Their front end and back end netscalers crashed and burned within 5 minutes of the update going live which took out all traffic management capabilities making it so difficult to access their site for many hours.

Getting my 4 free storage panes took me over 7 hours of time outs and disconnects. But it's all good now.

anyone who actually made a username/password thinking it was a throw away name to get the account up and running like myself will experience extreme difficulty getting the "free" storage pane.

To those of you poindexters who are so pro because you have a filing system to remember game codes (get a life btw) spare a thought for the fact that this pane is for everyone! not just those with pro filing skills and try to empathise with those people who now have to deal with the mess/enigma that is the anet/plaync debarcle because they actually don't want to help you recover your details as much as they say they do. So this free update that is supposed to reward players for the 4 year anniversary will be more likely to reward newer players who still have the details on hand and havn't just thrown them away given they have "never " been required before.

the only thing i care about for the moment is that even if u have you old NCsoft account ID you can't use it because it is too long for the new website...

Read my first post please. If you can't work a bit and/or ask for help from anet about this issue, its your fault that you couldn't eaven bother. They want people to use the NCsoft Store more, thats why they want people to get their stor panel from there. If they didnt want people to use it, they could just have made the free storage automatically without entering coupons to everyone. And they need to eat too, they need more server space, they need to pay their bills. If you are too lazy, point the finger to yourselves.

i didn't remember my account name either, but all it took was searching for something like "playNC" in my gmail account and bang, got it... see i can't even remember what i searched for yesterday xD

but /signed for others, so they can get their free pane cause it's their only chance... keep more organized you lolz xD
but true the "I forgot me passwd x_o" page could have a different option like typing in the email, instead of the account name :P

edit: my guildie has the same problem as you guys, so the /sig goes for him too

Know what? Anet could have done this JUST like the Makeover Kits using the Xunli agents but they chose not to.

With the makeover kit, if you talk to the npc, she shows you 2 links to the stores where you can buy your keys, one of these is the anet store that can be accessed when ingame. They could have just had you click on a link and gotten a "storage token" on your next logged in character that had inventory room to redeem.

This would have shown the new store, had people go to it, and NOT needed their master ncsoft account name/password etc..

Actually your master ncsoft account is not needed to contact support on any issue. Your support account is separate from your ncsoft account as I very well know. See MY ncsoft support account has a different username and password which I was able to have re-sent to me (from some time ago) and found in my old e-mails (which is a different login name/pw then my master account). You are able to also set up a new support account at any time as my friend did to help him try and figure out his master ncsoft account problem.

It took me over 30 hours to get ncsofts site to respond to me correctly for my master account and free storage tab, yet the support site responded right away at all times during those 30 hours.

Although i hate the idea of making accounts on ncsoft (i threw out my access code so i cant redeem it) I understand why they are making you get the storage pane this way. They feel that if you go on the website and look at what you can buy that you might see something u would like to buy and buy it. Notice how they put the storage at bottom of buy list? Probably so you have to scroll down and have to see each possible buy option. If they didnt choose to go this route they would have just sent everyone the free storage panel automatically.

What else they could have done: Have xulani agents give u a link to the guild wars available upgrades that you can buy website page. Once you visited (copied this part from other people here on website) you get a redeemable token that you can use to automatically get the storage pane or they could have you take a mini random quiz on stuff about the things you could buy (i.e. how much is the extreme makeover kit/how much is the nightfall skill pack?)

Absolutely. Why can't we do this? I currently have no idea what my game account is linked to because I never did this through the NCsoft store. Nor do I have much hope of ever finding out, because apparently I need keys from all of my campaigns. And yes, this bothers me to no end.

If it was just a case of losing my username/password, then yeah, dumb me. But it's not. If can't even say for certain that I was even made aware of the fact that my account was being linked to an account I didn't sign up for when I made a purchase in a completely different store. Perhaps I was, but I know that they didn't give me the courtesy of sending me an email with my account details. If they had, I wouldn't be having this problem right now. If I could look it up through my game account I wouldn't be having this problem. Instead I need to contact support and give them account keys?

I get that this was a promotion to get us all to the NCsoft store, and generally, I think that's a very smart idea. However, after all of this hassle, I have absolutely no desire to ever buy anything from NCsoft's jacked-up website. This was a big fat promotional FAIL.

Trying to get my Free Storage is taking too much time. "Linked to another account", after spending hours to connect. I only have 1 account with NCSoft. So, the heck with it. I have gone this long without these items, not going to waste anymore of my time/money trying to get them.

Thank you Anet for past entertainment, and good luck in your future.

I have never created a ncsoft account as long as ive been playing. Since this update I have tried several times to create a account and everytime at the end of the forms I get a error message with a no internet connection window that pops up. *sigh* I obviously have internet connection and I have tried several different internet providors and still no luck. Has anyone else had this issue with creating a account?? Guess I have until May 31st to get my storage tab or else im SOL
